Ron,
I was informed of the email you included in a recent edition of The May Report from a "confidential" source regarding Veritel and some of the company's investors. I am the Amanda that is mentioned with regard to Jack Ryan and I would like to set the record straight.
I worked with Jack Ryan, among other bankers, at Goldman Sachs for a little over two years. At no time while an employee of Goldman Sachs did I date Jack Ryan or any of the other bankers with whom I worked. My relationship with Jack Ryan was purely professional.
My decision to leave Goldman Sachs was a result of being contacted by a headhunter. She contacted me about an opportunity at Salomon Smith Barney that could offer me additional responsibilities and a better compensation package. For these reasons I accepted the new opportunity at Salomon Smith Barney.
I have read some of the emails you have received since the publication of the original email. I must concur with Leslie Hindman's comments regarding Jack Ryan. He is a good individual who holds himself to the very highest standards of integrity.
I was very upset to learn that my name was included in such a rumor and I hope you will choose to rectify this matter by correcting the rumor in a future edition of The May Report.
